Safety Centre
Meeting someone should never cost you your safety.
Most people here are exactly who they say they are. These are the habits that protect you from the few who aren't, and what we do when someone crosses a line.
If you are in immediate danger
Contact your local emergency services first. We are not an emergency service and cannot intervene in a situation that is happening now. Once you are safe, report the person here and we will act on it.
Before you meet someone
- Talk inside JW Meets first. Someone pushing to move to another app straight away is a signal worth noticing.
- Meet somewhere public, and make your own way there and back.
- Tell someone you trust where you are going and when you expect to be home.
- Never send money, gift cards or account details — however convincing the reason. This is the single most common way people are defrauded on dating services.
- End the conversation the moment you feel uneasy. You never owe anyone an explanation.
What verification does and doesn't mean
A JW Verified badge means that member answered five questions about the faith correctly. It says nothing about whether they are honest, safe, or who they claim to be, and it is not a statement about anyone's congregation standing.
Treat it as one small signal among many, never as a reason to skip the habits above.
Reporting someone
Every profile and every conversation has a report option, and blocking is immediate — the other person is not told. Reports reach a real person, not a filter, and we act on the account rather than asking you to negotiate with anyone.
You can also email safety@jwmeets.com with what happened. Include anything you can — we can act faster with detail.
What we do about it
Depending on what we find, we warn, restrict, suspend or permanently remove an account. Serious safety cases skip the warnings. Anyone we remove can appeal, and a different person reviews that appeal.
We keep a record of moderation decisions so that a removed account cannot quietly return, and so that a pattern across several reports is visible rather than lost.
